The Genius of Swarms

Victor suggested I read an article on Swarm Theory in National Geographic 07/07. I think he was trying to tell me that we decentralized decision making may be way for us to go. Rules for Bigeye Jack fish in the pacific are, 1. stick together 2. avoid collisions and 3. swim in the same direction. Somehow this lets them avoid trouble. Bees also use a type of voting with their feet to decide where the new nest will be located.
